    Matsqui Trail Regional Park
    The Matsqui Trail Regional Park is situated across the Fraser River from the town of Mission. The park includes the Matsqui Trail which is ideal for an easy walk or cycle trip. There are also picnic tables set up along the edge of the river.

    Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park
    Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park protects over 90 hectares of marsh, lake and uplands. It is also the home for a variety of bird, animal and insect species, with its sensitive habitat providing an ideal environment for mink, river otters, black-tailed deer, rough necked newts, Western toads and the rare Western Pondhawk dragonfly. It is a popular spot for nature hikes, picnics and wildlife appreciation.

    Mill Lake - Centennial Park
    Check out the view of Mount Baker from the floating boardwalk on Mill Lake or go fishing. A popular spot for walking and running, the path travelling around the lake is 2 km (1.2 mi) long. Visitors can enjoy the outdoor pool, spray park and playgrounds available in the park, and when they tire there are quiet picnic areas in which to relax. Rowboats and canoes can be used on the lake as well.

    Golden Ears Provincial Park
    This provincial park, situated in the Coast Mountains, is located 11 km from Maple Ridge, or a 45-minute drive from Abbotsford. Visitors can enjoy the park's lakes, hiking trails and activities, which include horseback riding, water skiing and mountain climbing. The beautiful park is a favourite with locals and features multiple campgrounds.

    Alexandra Bridge
    This magical looking bridge is a bridge to the past with a fascinating history that began in 1863. The Alexandra Bridge was named after Princess Alexandra of Wales when it was built in response to an increase in population. While the bridge has met with some tragedy (such as a flood in 1894), it has always remained in the hearts of many, leading to its reconstruction in 1926. Today, the bridge can be found within Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park, a 10-minute walk along an historic highway that is no longer used.

    Kanaka Creek Regional Park
    Kanaka Creek Regional Park sits on 400 hectares of wilderness beside a section of Kanaka Creek that is 12 km (7 mi) long. It features activities such as hiking (10 k or 6 mi), horseback riding (5 km or 3 mi), bicycling (7 km or 4 mi), fishing, canoeing, kayaking and picnicking. The park also has the Bell-Irving Fish Hatchery, a viewing tower and Cliff Falls, one of the main attractions for picnickers.

    Sasquatch Provincial Park
    Located 6 kilometers north of Harrison Hot Springs, Sasquatch Provincial Park is 1217 hectares and has mountain ridges and a series of pocket lakes. Deer and Hicks Lakes are great for canoeing and motor-boating, and Trout Lake is a quiet fishing lake. Camping, hiking, wildlife viewing and picnicking are enjoyed by visitors to the park.     Kilby Provincial Park
    Located on Harrison River, many activities are available to the visitor and camper at this 3-hectare provincial park. The Park is open all year unless inaccessible due to weather conditions. The park offers boating, water skiing and fishing on Harrison River and Harrison Lake. Park users can also enjoy camping, picnicking, and visiting the nearby General Store Museum.

    Nicolum River Provincial Park
    Created in 1956, the Nicolum River Park is small at 24 ha (59 acres) but still includes nine campsites with picnic tables and pit toilets. It is possible to fish in the Nicolum River which contains Coho Salmon and cutthroat trout.

    E. C. Manning Provincial Park
    Located in the heart of the Cascade Mountains. The park offers a diverse landscape that is suited for a variety of recreational opportunities. The park is known for its developed trail system, which offers everything from 15 minute nature walks to 5 day mountain hikes. Manning Park is also home to a variety of bird and animal species, including mountain beavers and wolverines.

    Sumas Mountain Regional Park
    This park includes the Sumas Mountain Trail which is several kilometres long and includes steep sections. Visitors looking for an easier walk can try the circle trail that surrounds Chadsy Lake. Horseback riding, paragliding and hang-gliding are also popular activities in the park.

    Kawkawa Lake Provincial Park
    This popular recreation spot is located in the Cascade Mountains. Kawkawa Lake Provincial Park contains a day-use picnic area with tables, benches, a beach, a boat launch and a small dock. Activities available at the park include swimming, boating and fishing.

    Alexander Bridge Provincial Park
    Located in the Fraser Valley, Alexander Bridge Provincial Park is a popular spot for picnickers. There is an interpretive display that explains the history of the valley including that of the trio of bridges that have crossed the river here at different point over the last two centuries.

    Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park
    Home to the sixth largest waterfall in Canada, the 122 m (400 ft) Bridal Falls, this provincial park features a day-use area that is often used for picnics and hiking. Visitors can bring pets but must keep them on-leash.

    Glen Valley Regional Park
    Lying along the Fraser River between Langley and Abbotsford, the Glen Valley Regional Park, also known as Fraser Islands Regional Park, offers fishing, kayaking and picnicking to river-goers. There are a few kilometres of walking and cycling trails in the park and public toilets are available at the Two-Bit and Duncan Bars.

    Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve
    Located on the un-dyked floodplain of the Vedder River, the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve is home to over 90 great blue heron nests. The park is also frequented by bald eagles, painted turtles and the Salish sucker. The site includes a large Interpretive Centre, observation tower, bird blinds and over 8 km (5 mi) of hiking trails.

    This 9122 ha (22,541 acre) park located in the Coast Mountains protects a patch of rare old growth forest. There is a campsite within the park and it also contains Chilliwack Lake which is popular for swimming and boating.

    The University of British Columbia Faculty of Forestry manages a small area of the forest for recreational purposes. A trail system is in place to use for hiking, jogging or enjoying nature.

    Emory Creek does not boast a large amount of traditional recreational activities but visitors can fish in the Fraser River or in Emory Creek. Located on the site of Emory, a former bustling gold rush town, the park includes 34 campsites.

    Skagit Valley Provincial Park
    This large park is situated at the Canada/US border 36km southeast of Hope. The park includes Ross Lake Reservoir, which feeds US hydroelectricity projects and also provides recreational fihsing opportunities. 50km of walking and horse trails. Campgrounds at park, including a horse camp.

    BC Hydro Recreation Site
    Located around a hydro dam, this recreation site is popular for fishing and camping. Jones Lake (Wahleach Lake) holds rainbow, cutthroat and kokanee and is this popular with anglers from May to September. There are 15 campsites in the area.

    Cascade Recreation Area
    Cascade Recreation Area is located within the Hozameen Range of the Cascade Mountains. This area has seen minimal development over the years and remains an important habitat for wolverines, grizzlies and mountain beavers. Recreational opportunities include hiking, horseback riding and nature appreciation. Snowmobiling is popular during the winter.

    Grant Narrows Regional Park
    Grant Narrows Regional Park has a boat launch on Pitt Lake and is great for canoeing, kayaking and picnicking. It also has trails for walking, hiking and cycling. There is access to a large network of trails in provincial wildlife management areas and along municipal dykes. There is a small fee for the boat launch and overnight parking. In the summer a concession is open and canoes are available for rent.

    Japanese Friendship Garden
    The Japanese Friendship Garden in Hope was designed by Japanese Canadians to show the Japanese culture and commemorate the Japanese interned at Tashme Camp near Hope. It was given in 1991 and is located in a corner of Memorial Park next to the Town Hall on Wallace Street. The garden contains a waterfall, cherry trees, a pond and more.

    Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park
    When the Canadian Pacific Railway was built through BC, special tunnels were built to accomodate track through the 300 metre deep Coquihalla Gorge. Now, the Gorge and the Othello Tunnels are open for the public to explore at Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park. While a picnic lunch is optional, explorers will need to bring a flashlight for the tunnels' gloom.
