    Malcolm Knapp Research Forest
    The University of British Columbia Faculty of Forestry manages a small area of the forest for recreational purposes. A trail system is in place to use for hiking, jogging or enjoying nature.

    Kanaka Creek Regional Park
    Kanaka Creek Regional Park sits on 400 hectares of wilderness beside a section of Kanaka Creek that is 12 km (7 mi) long. It features activities such as hiking (10 k or 6 mi), horseback riding (5 km or 3 mi), bicycling (7 km or 4 mi), fishing, canoeing, kayaking and picnicking. The park also has the Bell-Irving Fish Hatchery, a viewing tower and Cliff Falls, one of the main attractions for picnickers.

    Golden Ears Provincial Park
    This provincial park, situated in the Coast Mountains, is located 11 km from Maple Ridge, or a 45-minute drive from Abbotsford. Visitors can enjoy the park's lakes, hiking trails and activities, which include horseback riding, water skiing and mountain climbing. The beautiful park is a favourite with locals and features multiple campgrounds.
